The lab group has been busy presenting research at multiple conferences.

In April 2023, Alex presented at the National Association for Research in Science Teaching meeting, sharing findings from his longitudinal study of teacher knowledge development.

In June, Hannah presented at the Transforming Institutions Conference, alongside Tessa and Paula Lemons, about the DeLTA project, which works to advance teaching evaluation in STEM departments at UGA.

In July, Cristie, Alex, and Hannah each presented at the Society for the Advancement of Biology Education Research conference, including:

  • Cristie giving a talk about her study of the reasoning behind instructor's use of discourse in biology classrooms.

  • Alex giving a talk about the newest findings from his study of how pedagogical content knowledge develops.

  • Hannah sharing preliminary findings about the ideas that STEM department heads have about leading change in a poster
